According to Shinhan Securities Việt Nam, Vietnamese firms exporting to Europe and North America’s East Coast are being affected by Red Sea route changes.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has called on marine transport and logistics businesses to cut fees for container storage and warehousing for companies that have reduced operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Transport has asked the Prime Minister to arrange for a
list of sea transport fees and port charges to be published to stop
ship owners from over-charging.
The Ministry of Finance has sent a document to provincial departments of
finance to improve the management of transport fees, as well as prices
of essential goods, to prevent price increases.
The Finance Ministry will inspect 20 foreign
shipping companies located in big ports, including HCM City, Hai Phong
and Ha Noi this month, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai said.
The Ministry of Finance on January 21 urged authorities to tighten
the management of road transport fares, after the domestic petrol
prices were reduced on the same day.
